What is LYCC (Laramie Youth Crisis Center)?
LYCC is a behavioral health crisis response center for youth in Wyoming. We offer shelter care, individual & family counseling, respite stays, group home services, and solution development for youth 0-17 years old.

How can LYCC help?
LYCC is available 24/7/365 to help with mental health, substance use, and emotional crises, information, and referrals for long-term care. Our Crisis Care Professionals work with youth and families to meet immediate needs and plan for the future.
If you don’t know where to begin getting help for yourself or someone you love, start here. We are committed to offering guidance, no matter the issue.
What can I expect when I call?
When you call LYCC, you will be connected to a trained Crisis Care Professional. We will work with you via phone, video conference, or in person to work through crisis needs.
We can connect you with a crisis counselor as well as follow-up calls and referrals for continued care.
What can I call about?
Crisis looks different for everyone so if you find yourself struggling with any mental health, substance use, or emotional challenge, our services can help. No problem is too small.
Common call topics include family struggles, child safety concerns, depression, grief & loss, self injury, stress, parenting concerns, trauma, relationship problems, anxiety, homelessness, concerns for loved ones, and resource questions.
How is LYCC affiliated with Cathedral Home?
The Laramie Youth Crisis Center is a program of the Cathedral Home. Our organization has been serving youth and families in Wyoming since 1910. Clients served through LYCC can expect ongoing support and resources.
Is the service confidential?
The Crisis Care Professional who answers your call will ask for your name and a callback number in case you are disconnected. This is not required to receive help.
Your privacy is important to us. Confidentiality will be maintained throughout your work with LYCC. The only time we might contact another party is if you or someone else is in immediate danger.
What if I need help in person?
Our crisis center is open 24/7/365 and is located at 960 N 5th St, Laramie, WY 82072. The front door is locked to protect clients inside, so simply ring the bell for help.
*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that you call (307) 742-5936 to begin the process of receiving services. No one in immediate need will be turned away.
Are services free?
Yes! Services provided by LYCC are free including walk-ins and overnight stays for children 0-18.
Can I request help for a loved one?
A family member or friend of an individual in crisis can always call the hotline to discuss the situation and determine a plan of action.
